This BBC Three series from May 2008 saw six young fashion addicts swap shopping on the high street with working in India‘s cotton fields and clothes factories. Find out whether they could handle a sewing machine and meet the target of two garments a minute. And whether their experience changed their throwaway attitude to clothes shopping.

The BBC Uzbek Service has found that schoolchildren are still being sent out to work in Uzbekistan's vast cotton fields , despite government promises to stop using child labour during the harvest. The BBC is not allowed to report from Uzbekistan. But in telephone conversations with Uzbeks in the countryside, it is clear the government seems to have broken its promise.
